14M/01-1 RECALLS AND SERVICE CAMPAIGNS: WHEN REPAIRING ANY VEHICLE, ALWAYS CHECK THE VEHICLE MASTER INQUIRY FOR OPEN CAMPAIGNS
14M/01-2 GROUP 82 - M-CLASS, MODEL YEAR 00 AND 01, MCS PART NUMBER CLARIFICATION: When replacing defective MCS units in an M-Class vehicle, please note that the Model Year 2000 and Model Year 2001 MCS units are not interchangeable. Consult the 163 Electronic Troubleshooting Manual for more information. Please refer to the following guidelines when replacing MCS units.
- MY 2000 MCS Unit - Part number 163 820 04 86, replace with 163 820 04 86
- MY 2001 MCS Unit - Part number 163 820 08 86 or 163 820 13 86, replace with 163 820 13 86
NOTE:
163 820 13 86 replaces 163 820 08 86 due to the introduction of INFO SERVICES.
