MERCEDES-BENZ: All W/ Keyless Go
GROUP: 80.61 - Keyless Go

CAUSE / EXPLANATION

Keys are often lost within the interior of the vehicle without knowledge by the customer or service personnel. When a "replacement key" is ordered as a "duplicate" and both keys are used in the vehicle simultaneously, the KG system may receive crossed signals. Even a key in the trunk can be lost and go undetected as long as a working key present on the user when closing the trunk.

CORRECTION

  1. Consider performing a "key localization" to search for keys lost in the interior OR simply attempt to start the vehicle without the remaining key inside the vehicle.
  2. As a rule, lost keys should be ordered as "additional keys".
  3. It is IMPORTANT to "block" the lost key track(s) thru KG adaptations.
