COMPLAINT
Engine control unit warranty claim debited.
CAUSE
All engine control units exchanged under warranty must be accompanied by the Control Unit Log. Claims submitted without this information will be debited back to the dealer. No other documentation will be accepted or required.
REMEDY
As of DAS version 04/05, the Control Unit Log menu item can be found from the following STAR Diagnosis menu:
- Control Units -> Drive -> Motor electronics -> Control unit log
In order to obtain an accurate investigation of the engine control unit, it is important to enter the customer complaint and any additional information with the "Customer complaint (Remarks concerning damage case)" screen.

NOTE:
For M112 and M113 engines with ME 2.8 and also for M156, M272 and M273 engines with ME 9.7 injection systems, documentation is required. For injection system identification, please refer to Fig 4, Fig 5 and Fig 6
on top right corner (examples on screen shots show "Control Unit ME9.7").
NOTE:
All parts will be tested starting in May 2007. Parts found to be working properly will be returned to the dealership and the claim debited.
