SERVICE INFORMATION
With the increasing number of super charged and turbo charged engines coming to the market, there are efforts by the accessory industry to increase performance and torque of the engines by means of chip tuning. The use of chips other than as specified for vehicles has resulted in increasing damage patterns when analyzing warranty returns.
The layout of the individual components in the engine and drive train have been matched to each other for maximum comfort and durability and are specified in the model approval process (certification). Any subsequent modifications to these components or use of parts from companies which have not been tested and approved, reduce the safety and product reliability / durability reserves provided by the manufacturer and may lead to the invalidation of the certification of a vehicle.
We would like to remind you that MBUSA does not assume liability for such modifications. Moreover, product related claims, including warranty or goodwill claims may be refused for vehicles on which such modifications have been performed.
