COMPLAINT

The selector lever of the electronic selector lever module blocks in position "P", although the brake is applied.

CAUSE

Several causes come into consideration for this complaint:

  1. The brake pedal cannot be depressed far enough after the vehicle has stood for a longer period
  2. No signal from the stop lamp switch (check actual values in the electronic selector lever module using the DAS [Diagnosis Assistance System]
  3. Release mechanism in center shifter has malfunctioned, or electrical fault in electronic selector lever module

REMEDY

  1. Check vacuum system & repair any faults found. Explain to the customer to further depress pedal.
  2. Check stop lamp switch signal and repair as necessary.
  3. Replace center shifter console.
