NOTE: Repair information for C43, CL500, CLK320, E300TD, E430, ML55, ML320 and ML430 is not available.

The steering column assembly includes an air bag module, an impact-absorbing steering wheel, upper and lower collapsible column shafts, and lower flexible coupling. Some models have a motorized adjustable steering column.

WARNING: All models are equipped with Supplemental Restraint System (SRS). To avoid injury from accidental air bag deployment, read and carefully follow SERVICE PRECAUTIONS before performing ANY repair.
