Dynamometer/Speedometer Test

NOTE: Before vehicle is driven on a dynamometer, this procedure must be followed.

Disconnecting Electronic Stability Program (ESP) control module is not allowed. The ME-SFI control module and Electronic Transmission Control (ETC) Module (TCM) rely on Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) data through the Controller Area Network (CAN) bus. To disable brake and engine regulation functions of the ESP, ASR, ETS, ABS control modules, perform one of the following procedures:

  1. Without Scan Tool -  Turn ignition off. Connect Adapter (140 589 14 63 00) to underhood Data Link Connector (DLC). Jumper adapter sockets No. 1 and 6. Start engine. Appropriate system malfunction indicator light must illuminate. Erase DTCs after completing work.
  2. With Scan Tool -  Turn ignition off. Disconnect front axle Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) connector. Start engine. Appropriate system malfunction indicator light must illuminate. Erase DTCs after completing work.
