Left Cylinder Bank ME-SFI Control Module (N3/11)
NOTE:
Manufacturer identifies both left and right pedal value sensors as (B37). Left cylinder bank pedal value sensor is located in left cylinder bank throttle valve actuator (M16/3). Left cylinder bank throttle valve actuator is located on right side of engine (because of intake manifold crossover). For ME-SFI control module location and identification, see ME-SFI CONTROL MODULE CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION
.
- Pedal Value Sensor (B37), Signal 2 - Connect DVOM between left cylinder bank ME-SFI control module (N3/11) connector 1 terminals No. 18 and 19 (socket box terminals No. 18 and 19). Turn ignition on. With throttle closed, voltage should be 0.1-0.4 volts. With throttle at Wide Open Throttle (WOT), voltage should be 2.1-2.5 volts. If voltage is within specification, go to next step. If voltage is not within specification, possible causes are wiring harness failure, voltage supply problem to pedal value sensor (B37) or pedal value sensor (B37) defective. Repair as necessary. To check voltage supply to pedal value sensor, go to next step.
- Pedal Value Sensor (B37), Signal 2 Voltage Supply - Connect DVOM between left cylinder bank ME-SFI control module (N3/11) connector 1 terminals No. 18 and 4 (socket box terminals No. 18 and 4). Turn ignition on. Voltage should be 2.25-2.75 volts. If voltage is okay, go to next step. If voltage is not okay, possible cause is left cylinder bank ME-SFI control module (N3/11) defective. Repair as necessary.
- Closed Throttle Signal 2 - Connect DVOM between left cylinder bank ME-SFI control module (N3/11) connector 1 terminals No. 38 and 16 (socket box terminals No. 38 and 16). Turn ignition on. With throttle closed, voltage should be more than 4 volts. With throttle at Wide Open Throttle (WOT), voltage should be 2-3 volts. If voltage is within specification, test is complete. If voltage is not within specification, possible causes are wiring harness failure or left cylinder bank ME-SFI control module (N3/11) defective. Repair as necessary.
