Test Procedure

  1. Sensor Signal -  Connect DVOM between ME-SFI control module connector "E" terminals No. 24 and 23 (socket box terminals No. 80 and 79). Tee a vacuum gauge into pressure sensor vacuum line. Turn ignition on. Voltage should be more than 3.5 volts. Start engine and idle. Voltage should be less than 2 volts. Vacuum gauge should indicate an increase in vacuum to more than 500 mbar. If voltage and vacuum respond as indicated, test is complete. If voltage and vacuum does not respond as indicated, perform remaining step. Possible causes are defective vacuum line, wiring harness failure, pressure sensor failure or defective ME-SFI control module (N3/10).
  2. Voltage Supply -  Turn engine off. Turn ignition on. Connect DVOM between ME-SFI control module connector "E" terminals No. 24 and 22 (socket box terminals No. 80 and 78). Voltage should be 4.7-5.3 volts. If voltage is okay, test is complete. If voltage is not okay, possible causes are defective vacuum line, wiring harness failure, pressure sensor failure or defective ME-SFI control module (N3/10). Repair as necessary.
