April 5, 2026: LEMON Manuals is launched! Read the announcement.

Test Procedure

  1. Voltage -  Connect DVOM between ME-SFI control module connector "E" terminals No. 48 and 45 (socket box terminals No. 104 and 101). Turn ignition on. Voltage should correspond with temperature. See INTAKE AIR TEMPERATURE SENSOR VOLTAGE  table. If voltage is okay, test is complete. If voltage is not okay, perform remaining step. Possible causes are defective ME-SFI control module (N3/10).
    INTAKE AIR TEMPERATURE SENSOR VOLTAGE

    Temperature (1) Volts
    50°F (10°C) 3.1
    68°F (20°C) 2.7
    86°F (30°C) 2.2
    104°F (40°C) 1.8
    122°F (50°C) 1.4
    140°F (60°C) 1.1
    (1) Voltage values can vary plus or minus 5 percent.
  2. Resistance -  Turn ignition off. Connect DVOM between ME-SFI control module connector "E" terminals No. 48 and 45 (socket box terminals No. 104 and 101). Resistance should correspond with temperature. See INTAKE AIR TEMPERATURE SENSOR RESISTANCE  table. If resistance is okay, test is complete. If resistance is not okay, possible causes are wiring harness failure or defective hot film MAF sensor (B2/5). Repair as necessary.
    INTAKE AIR TEMPERATURE SENSOR RESISTANCE

    Temperature (1) Ohms
    50°F (10°C) 3600
    68°F (20°C) 2420
    86°F (30°C) 1660
    104°F (40°C) 1170
    122°F (50°C) 850
    140°F (60°C) 600
    (1) Resistance values can vary plus or minus 5 percent.
