Service Intervals & Specifications

Mercedes-Benz vehicles are equipped with a Flexible Service System (FSS). The FSS determines vehicle service schedule based on vehicle usage and operating conditions. The FSS notifies vehicle owner by briefly displaying either one or two graphics of a wrench where vehicle mileage is displayed on instrument cluster. Vehicle displaying one wrench indicates service "A" (minor service) is due. Vehicle displaying two wrenches indicates service "B" (major service) is due. If vehicle mileage since last service "B" is less than 14,000 miles, a service "A" should be performed. If vehicle mileage since last service "B" is more than 14,000 miles, a service "B" should be performed. The mileage calculations are carried out automatically by the instrument cluster.
