Left Cylinder Bank ME-SFI Control Module (N3/11)

NOTE: Left cylinder bank actual value potentiometer is located in left cylinder bank throttle valve actuator (M16/3). Potentiometer produces 2 signals, signal 1 and signal 2. Left cylinder bank throttle valve actuator is located on right side of engine (because of intake manifold crossover). For ME-SFI control module location and identification, see ME-SFI CONTROL MODULE CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  .
  1. Actual Value Potentiometer 1, Signal -  Connect DVOM between left cylinder bank ME-SFI control module connector 2 terminals No. 98 and 97 (socket box terminals No. 98 and 97). Turn ignition on. With throttle closed, voltage should be 4-4.6 volts. With throttle fully open, voltage should be less than closed throttle position value. If voltage is within specification, go to next step. If voltage is not within specification, possible causes are wiring harness failure or defective left cylinder bank throttle valve actuator (M16/3).
  2. Actual Value Potentiometer 2, Signal -  Connect DVOM between left cylinder bank ME-SFI control module connector 2 terminals No. 98 and 107 (socket box terminals No. 98 and 107). Turn ignition on. With throttle closed, voltage should be 0.9-0.9 volts. With throttle fully open, voltage should be more than closed throttle position value. If voltage is within specification, go to next step. If voltage is not within specification, possible causes are wiring harness failure or defective left cylinder bank throttle valve actuator (M16/3).
  3. Actual Value Potentiometers 1 & 2, Voltage Supply -  Connect DVOM between left cylinder bank ME-SFI control module connector 2 terminals No. 98 and 106 (socket box terminals No. 98 and 106). Turn ignition on. Voltage should be 4.75-5.25 volts. If voltage is within specification, test is complete. If voltage is not within specification, possible causes are wiring harness failure or defective left cylinder bank ME-SFI control module (N3/11). Repair as necessary.
