Checking Riding Height: Notes

NOTE: Vehicle riding height and vehicle level may be considered the same measurement. Depending on chassis number these measurements may vary in procedure: mechanical gauges for riding height versus electronic measuring instruments for vehicle level.

215 chassis vehicles require the use of electronic inclination measuring instrument (CM-9606) to measure front and rear vehicle level (riding height). See Fig 1 and Figure . Vehicles with Active Body Control (ABC) requires the use of Mercedes-Benz "STAR DIAGNOSIS" compact PC (6511 1801 00). It is necessary to check vehicle riding height using a servicing pit or alignment rack. Vehicle weight must be on wheels. See instrument(s) manufacturer for tool usage.
