Check & Adjust Rear Toe Angle: Adjustments

  1. Check riding height (vehicle level) at front and rear and bring to specification if required. See CHECKING RIDING HEIGHT  under RIDING HEIGHT ADJUSTMENTS.
  2. Use brake piston reset tool (086) at transverse link (101) to pull the rear section of the exhaust system downward. See Fig 1 . Also, see Figure under SPECIAL TOOLS.
  3. Adjust toe in angle as follows:
    • Loosen bolts (60b) and (60c) with set of torque tools (087). See Fig 1 and Figure . Adjust toe using the adjustment nut (60d).
    • Check over all toe-in at rear axle. Observe permissible difference in rear axle toe between left and right sides of vehicle. For alignment specifications and values. See WHEEL ALIGNMENT SPECIFICATIONS  table.
    • Tighten bolts (60b) and (60c). See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
    • If specifications can not be attained, install NEW tie-rod and tapping plate. See appropriate SUSPENSION article.
  4. Remove brake piston reset tool (086).
