Charge air temperature sensor, location/task/function - GF07.04-P-5038H: Notes
ENGINE 112.960 in MODEL 170.466
ENGINE 112.961 in MODEL 203.065 /265
Illustrated: M112K, rear engine view, suction lines and air cleaner housing removed.
| Charge air temperature sensor position | At the charge air distribution pipe (110/1) in the V-angle of the engine below the throttle valve actuator (M16/6). | ||
| Charge air temperature sensor task | Measuring the charge air temperature. The signal (together with the signal of boost pressure) is used for calculating the air mass. In addition, the charge air temperature sensor (B17/8) monitors the operation of the charge air cooling system. | ||
| Charge air temperature sensor function | The function of the charge air temperature sensor (B17/8) is identical to the intake air temperature sensor (B17) in the engine M628. The NTC resistor which is installed in the charge air temperature sensor alters its ohmic resistance depending on the charge air temperature. |
