For "circuit 15 ON" the CDI control unit (N3/9) switches on the front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1) (models 203, 209, 221) or the driver-side SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1) (models 211, 219). The CDI control unit supplies the signal for preglowing to the glow time output stage (N14/3) through a serial interface.

The electric fuel pump (M3) is switched on via the rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2) and the fuel pump relay (N10/2kA) (models, 203, 209, 211, 219) or fuel pump relay (N10/2kS) (model 221). If the engine is not started, the fuel pump is switched off again after approx. 3 seconds.
