Location 

The charge air temperature sensor sits in the plastic housing in front of the throttle valve actuator (M16/6).

Task 

The charge air temperature sensor detects the charge air temperature and sends the signal to the CDI control unit (N3/9).

Design 

The charge air temperature sensor possesses an integral measuring resistor with a negative temperature coefficient (NTC).

Function 

The electrical resistance of the NTC measuring resistor varies according to charge air temperature. Electrical resistance decreases as temperature increases.
