Location 

The coolant temperature sensor is located on the left of the cylinder head under the rail.

Task 

The coolant temperature sensor detects the coolant temperature and sends this value to the CDI control unit (N3/9).

Design 

The coolant temperature sensor possesses an integral measuring resistor with a negative temperature coefficient (NTC).

Function 

The NTC measuring resistor alters its electrical resistance in line with the coolant temperature. Electrical resistance decreases as temperature increases.
