Location 

The left rail and the right rail are located above the respective cylinder head.

Task 

The left rail and the right rail serve as high-pressure reservoirs and are responsible for fuel distribution to the fuel injectors (Y76). In addition, the left rail serves as the mount for the pressure regulation valve and the right rail as the mount for the rail pressure sensor.
