Remaining time, function - GF00.20-P-2008SK
MODELS 171.4 with ENGINE 271.944 up to 31.5.05, 113.989
General
The warning threshold for the remaining time is used for stipulating the time, from which point the vehicle user is informed using an appropriate warning at the earliest before reaching the service date calculated by the service calculation. The warning threshold for the remaining time is primarily decisive for the service warning in cases when the remaining time reaches the service warning threshold earlier than the remaining distance of the determinate reference variable. The service calculation takes this variable into account in the calculation of the determinate reference variable for the next service. The remaining time warning threshold is stored in the central gateway control unit (N93) and can be parameterized using STAR DIAGNOSIS.
The remaining distance is the basis for all calculations. Service items, for which only a remaining time can be calculated are converted into a remaining distance, taking the daily mileage into account. The value that is closest to the service date is the crucial variable. The date is adapted in driving mode for every new day. This provides updated service interval end points for all activated service items.
Display of the remaining time
The remaining time is basically not displayed until the remaining time "XXX" (in days) of the average mileage has been reached and the warning threshold has been exceeded.
The remaining time is displayed in the upper multifunction display (A1p13):
- automatically, after reaching the warning threshold, after circuit status "circuit 15 ON" has been activated in the EIS [EZS] control unit (N73) or the engine has been started. The service symbol and the display "Service X in XXX days" appear for 10 s.
- automatically, after the remaining time has expired, after circuit status "circuit 15 ON" has been activated in the EIS [EZS] control unit (N73) or the engine has been started. The service symbol and the display "Perform Service X!" appear for 10 s. This display appears one day before and one day after the calculated service date.
- automatically, after the remaining time has elapsed, after circuit status "circuit 15 ON" has been activated in the EIS [EZS] control unit (N73) or the engine has been started. The service symbol and the display "Service X exceeded by XXX days" appear for 10 s. In addition, a warning tone is sounded.
If the active service system PLUS (ASSYST PLUS) is lacking measurement values due to a sensor failure, for example, it uses substitute values stored in the control units. An appropriate entry is made in the fault memory of the central gateway control unit (N93).
