ENGINE 156.980 in MODEL 164, 251 up to Model Year 8
ENGINE 156.982 in MODEL 209
ENGINE 156.983 in MODEL 211, 219
ENGINE 156.984 in MODEL 216, 221 up to Model Year 8
For model 164, 211, 219, 251
For model 209
On model 216, 221
Different performance maps for the engine control can be stored and activated with the correction programming in the ME-SFI [ME] control unit.
Correction programming can be carried out with STAR Diagnosis when ignition is "ON", via the data link connector.
Through correction programming also faults which are displayed by the engine diagnosis indicator lamp or CHECK ENGINE can be removed.
The following performance maps can be influenced:
- Ignition maps for adapting to different fuel qualities (except
)
- Mixture maps for enriching the air/fuel mixture in different operating states (except
)
- Idle speed for engaged drive position
- Fault setting conditions for rendering smooth engine running (recognition less sensitive)
- Temperature correction for switching the engine and air conditioning electric suction fan with integrated control (M4/7) on and off
