Torque interface for ME function - GF07.61-P-4014AMG
ENGINE 156.980 in MODEL 164, 251 up to Model Year 8
ENGINE 156.982 in MODEL 209
ENGINE 156.983 in MODEL 211, 219
ENGINE 156.984 in MODEL 216, 221 up to Model Year 8
The function torque interface coordinates and prioritizes all engine torque requests from the vehicle systems. At the same time, the dynamics of the conversion for each requirement are established.
The engine torque is modified as follows:
- Increase or reduction of injected volume
- Advanced or retarding the ignition angle
If one increases the injection quantities and at the same adjusts the ignition angle to "retarded", the engine torque initially remains unchanged. However there is the possibility to achieve subsequent rapid increase in the engine torque due to timing advance of the ignition angle (engine torque reserve).
The following systems can require changing of the engine torque:
- Driver
- Transmission control
- ESP
- Engine torque limitation when driving off (ASR)
- Cruise control or DISTRONIC
- Limitation of engine speed and max. speed
- Ancillary assemblies (such as the alternator and power steering pump)
- Automatic air conditioning
- Idle speed control
- Deceleration fuel shutoff
