The current fuel consumption is transmitted to the trip computer in the instrument cluster via the CAN Data bus by the ME-SFI [ME] control unit in the form of square-wave pulse packages.

The fuel consumption signal is calculated by the instrument cluster (e.g. 8.2 l/h).

One square-wave pulse means 0.2 l/h fuel consumption
