5	Remove heat shield (7) on exhaust manifold (9)	Model 166 with engine 651

7	Unfasten heat shield (1) at retaining clamp and remove
8	Detach contact protection, unscrew nut (5) and remove circuit 30 electric line (13) from starter (M1)	Nut, connection for circuit 30	*BA15.30-P-1002-01P
9	Unscrew nut (4) and remove circuit 50 electric line (14) from starter (M1)	Route circuit 50 electric line (14) between starter (M1) and crankcase. Otherwise, the circuit 50 electric line (14) will chafe against the heat shield (1). Nut, circuit 50 connection	*BA15.30-P-1003-01P
10	Remove screws/bolts (10, 12) and take off rear support brace (11) for exhaust gas turbocharger	Only in vehicles with sequential turbocharging. Bolt, bracket for rear/center exhaust gas turbocharger to crankcase	*BA09.40-P-1003-01P

11	Remove bolts (6)	When loosening upper screw/bolt (6) a suitable extension should be led at and past the rear engine mount over the transmission to the upper screw/bolt (6) in order to ease removal. Bolt, starter to major assembly carrier/crankcase	*BA15.30-P-1001-01P
12	Remove starter (M1) from below
13	Check pinion of starter (M1) for damage and wear	When reusing the starter (M1). If damaged or worn Replace starter (M1).
14	Check starter ring gear at flywheel/drive plate for wear and damage	If damaged or worn ↓ Replace flywheel/drive plate.	AR03.30-P-8001CD
15	Install in the reverse order
