Remove/Install Ignition Coils - AR15.12-P-2003MFG

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Remove upper engine cover.    
REFER TO MAINTENANCE     AP01.10-P-2405-01K
2 Remove screws (2). TORQUE SPECIFICATION Screw/bolt, ignition coil to cylinder head cover *BA15.10-P-1001-04A 
3.1 Release and disconnect electrical connectors (1) of the ignition coils from cylinders 1 to 3 (T1/1 to T1/3). Only when removing the ignition coils of cylinders 1 to 3 (T1/1 to T1/3).  
3.2 Pull the ignition coil out of cylinder 4 (T1/4) somewhat; release and disconnect electrical connector (1). Only when removing the ignition coil of cylinder 4 (T1/4).
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Firstly, insert the ignition coil of cylinder 4 (T1/4) with the spark plug connector about half way into the opening. Then, connect the electrical connector (1) and lock.
 
4 Remove ignition coils from cylinders 1 to 4 (T1/1 to T1/4). INSTALLATION NOTES
To reduce the force required for connection and disconnection of the spark plug connector, apply approx. 1 g of spark plug connector grease before installation.
Otherwise the spark plug connector will be damaged when removed again.

5 Check ignition coils of cylinders 1 to 4 (T1/1 to T1/4) and the spark plug connectors for damage. If damage occurs,

Replace corresponding components.
 
6 Install in the reverse order.    
INSPECT Check     
7 Connect vehicle diagnosis system, read out fault memory, and delete.

WARNING Risk of accident  from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury  (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running. Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts. AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
8 Conduct engine test run while checking for proper operation of the engine.
