The vehicle's speed is increased by increasing the drive torque.

Function 

Increasing the drive torque starts the following activities:

• Increase engine torque.

  The engine management system implements the "Increase engine torque" request.

• Gear downshift and upshift if necessary (vehicles with automatic transmission).

  The transmission management system implements the "Shift down gear" or "Upshift gear" request.
