Remove/Install Position Sensor Of Intake Camshaft - AR07.04-P-0056MFC

Engine 260 in model 118, 177, 247

CAUTION Risk of injury  caused by scraping or cutting body parts on sharp vehicle parts Always wear protective gloves when working on or near sharp and non-deburred vehicle parts.
Deburr repair panels.

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Remove upper engine cover.    
REFER TO MAINTENANCE   INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Only install the top engine cover after having completed the function check. AP01.10-P-2405-01C
2 Release and disconnect electrical connector (2) at intake camshaft Hall sensor (B6/15).    
3 Remove screw/bolt (1). TORQUE SPECIFICATION Screw/bolt, camshaft position sensor to cylinder head cover *BA15.10-P-1002-03I 
4 Remove intake camshaft Hall sensor (B6/15) and seal opening with suitable stop plug. SPECIAL TOOL Record plug Fig 2
5 Clean sealing surfaces at engine and intake camshaft Hall sensor (B6/15). IMPORTANT Only clean sealing surface at intake camshaft Hall sensor (B6/15) if removed intake camshaft Hall sensor (B6/15) will be reinstalled.  
    Cleaner *BR00.45-Z-1025-04A 
6 Check seal at intake camshaft Hall sensor (B6/15) for damage. If there are problems,

Replace intake camshaft Hall sensor (B6/15).
 
7 Install in the reverse order.    
INSPECT Check     
8 Read out and delete fault memory.    
REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS     AD00.00-P-2000-06MFA
WARNING Risk of accident  from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury  (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running. Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts. AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
9 Perform engine test run. While doing so, check engine for proper operation and leak tightness.    
10 Install upper engine cover.
