Electric Refrigerant Compressor, Basic Function - GF83.55-P-2000A

Engine all (CAR)

Overview

This document contains information on:

General

The electric refrigerant compressor draws in and compresses the refrigerant. It is driven by an electric motor, which is integrated into the refrigerant compressor.

IMPORTANT This means that the refrigerant compressor can be operated regardless of the engine speed of the combustion engine.

Shown on model 167

The electric refrigerant compressor is regulated by the climate control

control system.

Location

The electric refrigerant compressor is fitted at the combustion engine (e.g. on vehicles with 48 V technology) or at the electric machine (e.g. B. on vehicles with electric drive).

Function requirements

Structure

The electric refrigerant compressor basically consists of the following component parts:

IMPORTANT Depending on the model, the electrical refrigerant compressor can also be designated with A9/6.

Function

The control unit and the power electronics regulate the engine speed (from approx. 720 to 9000 rpm) and the refrigerant quantity. The electric motor drives the spiral compressor. This consists of two intertwined spirals, one of which is permanently connected to the housing while the other rotates in a circle in the first one. The spirals here form several increasingly smaller chambers within the coils. The refrigerant compressed in this way reaches the center in these chambers, where it then exits again.
