Observe the following notes on ceramic glow plugs.

Engine damage will occur otherwise.

• The ceramic glow plug is highly sensitive to shocks. Shocks cause invisible damage (hairline cracks) to the ceramic element and may lead to engine damage.
• It is not possible to check a ceramic glow plug for mechanical damage (e.g. hairline cracks).
• Only use a ceramic glow plug if the packaging is original and unopened.
• If a ceramic glow plug was dropped, it must always be replaced.
• Check the ceramic glow plug using the Diagnosis Assistance System (DAS) only.
• The ceramic glow plug must not be energized with 12 V because this will destroy it.
