Operation step 8

	Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.	Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.	AS00.00-Z-0005-01A

	Remove/install
1	Bring coolant temperature to approx. 80 °C.
2	Switch off engine.
3	Remove engine cover.		AR01.10-D-2405TSR
4	Separate electrical connection (1).
5	Open clips (2) and place fuel filter (3) with connected fuel lines to one side.
6	Unclip coolant hose (4) from the cable duct (5).
7	Unfasten cable duct (5).		AR15.18-D-0004-01TSR

8	Disconnect electrical connectors (7) of glow plugs (R9/1, R9/2, R9/3, R9/4).	Pliers	Fig 1
	Clean
9	Clean environment of glow plugs (R9/1, R9/2, R9/3, R9/4).	Loctite 7063 (400 ml) cleaning spray	*BR00.45-Z-1046-04A
10	Mark glow plugs (R9/1, R9/2, R9/3, R9/4) relative to corresponding cylinders.	Where glow plugs (R9/1, R9/2, R9/3, R9/4) are reused.
11	Remove glow plugs (R9/1, R9/2, R9/3, R9/4).	Glow plug to cylinder head	*BA15.20-N-1001-02TS

		If glow plugs (R9/1, R9/2, R9/3, R9/4) are reused, ↓ when installing glow plugs (R9/1, R9/2, R9/3, R9/4), install according to the applied marking. If glow plugs (R9/1, R9/2, R9/3, R9/4) break off ↓ Drill out corresponding glow plugs (R9/1, R9/2, R9/3, R9/4).	AR15.20-D-4112TSF
	Clean
12	Clean glow plug wells.	Cylinder brush	Fig 2
13	Install in the reverse order.
14	Connect diagnostic device, read out fault memory and perform initialization of glow plugs (R9/1, R9/2, R9/3, R9/4).	After replacement of glow plugs (R9/1, R9/2, R9/3, R9/4).	AD00.00-D-2000-06TS

15	Perform engine test run and check engine in area of glow plugs (R9/1, R9/2, R9/3, R9/4) for leaks.	Visual inspection only.
