| Remove/install | |||
| 1 | Bring coolant temperature to approx.80 °C. | ||
| 2 | Switch off engine. | ||
| 3 | Remove trim of left cylinder head cover. | AR01.20-D-5018TSV | |
| 4 | Remove trim of right cylinder head cover. | AR01.20-D-5017TSV | |
| 5 | Remove cable duct (2) of left cylinder head cover from charge-air distributor and push to side. | ||
| 6 | Disconnect electrical connectors of glow plugs (1). | Fig 1 | |
| 7 | Remove glow plugs (1). | *BA15.20-N-1001-02TS | |

| If the loosening torque is > 25 Nm: ↓ Heat working area on cylinder head with suitable heater. If a glow plug (1) breaks off: ↓ Drill out broken off glow plug (1). |
