Advance Components

Ignition advance is controlled by a centrifugal advance mechanism within the distributor, and by a vacuum advance mechanism. See IGNITION TIMING in ADJUSTMENTS article in the ENGINE PERFORMANCE Section. If centrifugal advance is not within specification, service distributor. See CENTRIFUGAL ADVANCE SPECIFICATIONS table. Replace vacuum advance unit if vacuum advance is not within specification. See IGNITION TIMING in ADJUSTMENTS article in the ENGINE PERFORMANCE Section.
