Idle Control System

  1. Turn ignition off. Disconnect IAC solenoid wiring harness connector. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between Blue/Yellow wire terminal of connector and ground. If voltage is less than 10 volts, repair circuit as necessary. If voltage is 10 volts or more, go to next step.
  2. Turn ignition off. Leave IAC solenoid wiring harness connector disconnected. Measure resistance between IAC connector terminals. If resistance is 10 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is not 10 ohms, replace IAC solenoid.
  3. Turn ignition off. Leave IAC solenoid harness connector disconnected. Install Breakout Box (007-00033), leaving PCM disconnected. Measure resistance between test pin No. 21 at breakout box and Light Blue wire terminal at IAC harness connector. Resistance should be less than 5 ohms. Measure resistance between test pin No. 21 and ground. Resistance should be more than 10,000 ohms. If resistance is as specified, replace PCM. If resistance is not as specified, repair circuit as necessary.
