Description & Operation
The switch monitor test uses PIDs to check the operation of certain switches (and related circuits) that do not set codes.
- Step 1) Turn ignition on. Connect NGS scan tool. See procedures under SCAN TOOL HOOK-UP . Using NGS scan tool, select PCM and enter PID/DATA MONITOR AND RECORD function.
- Step 2) Select PIDs for switches in question. See SWITCH TESTING table. Operate switch as described in table. If switch does not operate as described, proceed to circuit test suggested in table.SWITCH TESTING
