Description & Operation

The module communications network provides the ability for module-to-module communication by sharing inputs and outputs instead of each component having an input and output wired directly to each module. The communications network is routed throughout the vehicle to the Powertrain Control Module (PCM), anti-lock brake control module, transmission Control Module (TCM) and air bag diagnostic monitor. This article is used to diagnose communications network circuit faults. Lighting Control Module (LCM) and Smart Entry Control (SEC) timer/module are not part of communications network.
