Test H: Memory Mirror Inoperative With Remote Transmitter
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Press memory position buttons No. 1 and 2 simultaneously. Seat should move rearward and downward (exit position). Press UNLOCK button on remote transmitter. If memory seat moves, go to next step. If memory seat does not move, repair memory seat system as necessary. See POWER SEATS - VILLAGER article.
- Disconnect Driver's Seat Module (DSM) 32-pin harness connector C2046A. Disconnect Smart Entry Control (SEC)/timer module 26-pin harness connector C2032B. SEC/Timer module is located next to Transmission Control Module (TCM) under center of dash panel. See Fig 1
. Measure resistance of Pink wire between DSM connector C2046A terminal No. 24 and SEC/Timer module connector C2032B terminal No. 7. See Figure
and Fig 2
. Resistance should be 5 ohms. Measure resistance between ground and DSM connector C2046A terminal No. 24 (Pink wire). Resistance should be greater than 10 k/ohms. If resistance is as specified, go to next step. If resistance is not as specified, repair open, high resistance or short to ground in Pink wire.
- Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Measure voltage between ground and DSM connector C2046A terminal No. 24 (Pink wire). See Figure
. If no voltage exists, go to next step. If any voltage exists, repair short to power in Pink wire.
- Install known-good Smart Entry Control (SEC)/timer module. Connect Driver's Seat Module (DSM) connector C2046A. Press memory position buttons No. 1 and 2 simultaneously. If memory mirror moves, replace SEC/timer module. If memory mirror does not move, replace DSM.
