Test I: Mirror Heated Function Is Inoperative
- Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Turn rear window defogger on. If rear window defogger operates properly, go to next step. If heated rear window does operate properly, repair rear window defogger system as necessary. See REAR WINDOW DEFOGGERS - VILLAGER article.
- Check mirrors for proper heating operation. If mirror heating operates properly, go to next step. If both mirrors do not heat properly, repair Green wire between Central Junction Box (CJB) fuse No. 30 (10-amp) and mirror harness connector terminal No. 2. If driver-side mirror only is not operating, go to next step.
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect driver-side mirror harness connector C502A. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Turn rear window defogger on. Measure voltage between ground and driver-side mirror connector C502A terminal No. 2 (Green wire). See Figure . If more than 10 volts exists, go to next step. If 10 volts or less exists, repair open in Green wire.
- Turn ignition to LOCK position. Measure resistance between ground and driver's mirror connector terminal No. 1 (Black wire). See Figure . If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace inoperative mirror. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, repair open or high resistance in Black wire.
