Test B: Locks Inoperative Using Remote Transmitter
NOTE:
Keep driver's window rolled down when performing testing to avoid being locked out of vehicle.
- Lock and unlock door locks using master window/door lock switch. If door locks operate properly, go to next step. If door locks do not operate properly, see POWER DOOR LOCKS - VILLAGER article for further testing information.
- Check for a second remote transmitter that is programmed to vehicle. If a second remote transmitter is available, go to next step. If a second remote transmitter is not available, program a known-good remote transmitter to vehicle and go to next step. See PROGRAMMING .
- Depress LOCK and UNLOCK button on first remote transmitter. If doors lock and unlock, go to step 6 . If doors did not lock or unlock, go to next step. If door only locked, or only unlocked, go to step 5 .
- Depress LOCK and UNLOCK on second remote transmitter. If doors locked and unlocked, reprogram first remote transmitter. Recheck system operation. See PROGRAMMING . If first remote transmitter still does not operate correctly, replace first remote transmitter, program to vehicle. Recheck system operation. If doors do not lock and unlock, replace SEC/timer module. Recheck system operation.
- Depress LOCK and UNLOCK buttons on second remote transmitter. If doors locked and unlocked, replace first remote transmitter. Recheck system operation. See PROGRAMMING . If doors did not lock and unlock, replace SEC/timer. Recheck system operation.
- Depress LOCK and UNLOCK buttons on second remote transmitter. If doors locked and unlocked, system is okay at this time. If doors did not lock and unlock, try reprogramming second remote transmitter. Recheck system operation. If second remote transmitter still does not operate correctly, replace second remote transmitter, program to vehicle. Recheck system operation.
