Lighting Control Module: Notes

CAUTION: Before replacing any control module, ensure all module ground and power circuits are functioning properly. For circuit identification, see GROUND DISTRIBUTIONGROUND DISTRIBUTION and POWER DISTRIBUTIONPOWER DISTRIBUTION in WIRING DIAGRAMS article in ELECTRICAL.
CAUTION: Before removal of Lighting Control Module (LCM), module configuration information must be uploaded to Worldwide Diagnostic System (WDS) tester or New Generation Star (NGS) tester or other scan tool. New LCM must be programmed with this configuration information. See PROGRAMMABLE MODULE INSTALLATION PROCEDURE under CONTROL MODULE PROGRAMING under FORD MOTOR CO. in COMPUTER RELEARN PROCEDURES article in GENERAL INFORMATION.
NOTE: When battery is disconnected, vehicle computer and memory systems may lose memory data. Driveability problems may exist until computer systems have completed a relearn cycle. See COMPUTER RELEARN PROCEDURES article in GENERAL INFORMATION before disconnecting battery.
