Catalyst Efficiency Monitor

The catalyst efficiency monitor is a self-test strategy within PCM that uses downstream Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) to determine when a catalyst has fallen below minimum level of effectiveness in its ability to control exhaust emissions.
