PCM Reset Procedure

After a PCM reset procedure has been performed, the following events have occurred:

• All DTCs will be cleared from PCM memory.
• All freeze frame data will be cleared from PCM memory.
• Oxygen sensor test data will be cleared from PCM memory.
• OBD-II system monitor status will reset.

To perform PCM reset using scan tool, perform the following:

• Turn ignition off.
• Perform necessary vehicle preparation and visual inspections.
• Turn ignition on.
• Select vehicle and engine selection menu (optional).
• Select year, engine, model and any additional information requested by scan tool.
• Follow operating instructions from scan tool menu.
• Select DIAGNOSTIC FUNCTIONS. Press CONT button if all OBD-II System Readiness Tests (SRT) are not complete.
• Select CLEAR DIAGNOSTIC CODES.
• Press START button on scan tool.
