Cable Adjustment-Shift Control

  1. Place the gearshift lever in PARK (P) position.
  2. Raise and support the vehicle.
  3. Remove the splash shield.
  4. Loosen the shift cable nut.

  5. Position the shift linkage in PARK (P) position.

  6. Tighten the shift cable nut.

  7. Move the gearshift lever through the entire shifting range.
  8. Verify that the engine will crank with the gearshift lever in PARK (P) or NEUTRAL (N) position.
  9. Adjust the transmission range (TR) switch as necessary, refer to AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE/TRANSMISSION .
