Main Control Valve Body - Upper: Assembly

    CAUTION: Do not force the valves into the valve body. If any of the valves or the valve body are damaged, the entire valve body must be replaced.
  1. Install of the upper control valve body valves.
    • Lubricate the upper control valve body and valves with Motorcraft MERCON® Multi-Purpose (ATF) Transmission Fluid XT-2-QDX or equivalent meeting Ford specification MERCON®.
  2. Install the check balls.

  3. Position the upper control valve body separator plate and gaskets.
    4. NOTE: The separator plate is installed with a gasket on each side.
  4. Install the upper control valve body filter.
    1. Install the separator plate and filter assembly.
    2. Install the filter.
