Output Shaft and Bearing Retainer: Disassembly
- Inspect the output shaft bearing. If the bearing shows signs of excessive wear or damage, remove the bearing.
- Remove the output shaft seals.
- Inspect the output shaft and gear for wear and damage. Replace if necessary.
- Remove the output shaft bearing retainer seals.
- Remove the output shaft rear bearing retainer snap ring.
- Using the special tools, remove the output shaft bearing from the output shaft bearing retainer.
- Install new seals on the output shaft.
- Measure the clearance between the output shaft seal and the output shaft. Standard clearance is 0.10-0.25mm (0.0039 in) (0.0098 in). If the measured clearance is above specification, install a new input shaft.
- Remove the output shaft seals.
- Install new seals on the output shaft bearing retainer.
- Measure the clearance between the output shaft bearing retainer seal and the output shaft bearing retainer. Standard clearance is 0.10-0.30 mm (0.0039 in)-(0.0118 in). If the measured clearance is above specification, install a new output shaft bearing retainer.
- Remove the output shaft bearing retainer seals.
NOTE:
Do not remove the output shaft bearing unless it must be replaced.
NOTE:
The bearing may be damaged when removed.
