Hydraulic Control Unit -Electronic: Removal

  1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
  2. Remove the air cleaner outlet tube and air cleaner. .
  3. Disconnect the electronic hydraulic control unit (EHCU) electrical connector.
    1. Pull the electrical connector lock forward.
    2. Lift the electrical connector to remove it from the EHCU.

  4. WARNING: Brake fluid contains polyglycol ethers and polyglycols. Avoid contact with eyes. Wash hands thoroughly after handling. If brake fluid contacts eyes, flush eyes with running water for 15 minutes. Get medical attention if irritation persists. If taken internally, drink water and induce vomiting. Get medical attention immediately.
    CAUTION: Brake fluid is harmful to painted and plastic surfaces. If brake fluid is spilled onto a painted or plastic surface, immediately wash it with water.

  5. Disconnect the brake lines from the EHCU and cap them.
  6. Disconnect the transaxle shift cable from the EHCU bracket.

  7. Remove the EHCU assembly.
    1. Remove the EHCU bracket bolts.
    2. Loosen the EHCU bracket nut.

  8. Remove the EHCU bracket from the EHCU.
    1. Remove the nuts.
    2. Remove the EHCU bracket.
