Computed Ignition Timing Check

This checks the system's ability to correctly change and maintain spark timing. Ignition timing will be advanced 20° from base timing. Timing will be locked in through Self-Test and during 2 minute period after end of Self-Test read outs.

NOTE: If engine will not start, go to CIRCUIT TEST A  .

  1. Make sure that in-line base timing connector is reconnected if base timing has been checked. Make sure that Self-Test is activated and start engine. Timing is locked for full Self-Test sequence and for 2 minutes after display of last service code.
  2. Timing range should be 27-33° BTDC. If timing is correct, go to Engine Running Self-Test. If timing is not correct, go to CIRCUIT TEST MM  .
