Fuel Pump Circuit
When the ignition switch is turned to the "ON" position, the EEC relay closes and as part of its function, supplies current to the fuel pump relay coil circuit. Closing of the fuel pump relay contact completes the circuit to the fuel pumps and a timing device in the EEC module.
If the ignition switch is not turned to the crank position after one second, the timing device will open the fuel pump relay coil ground circuit, allowing the relay contacts to open. This circuit provides for pre-pressurization of the fuel system. The fuel pump circuit is protected by a 15-amp fuse located under the circuit protection panel. See Fig 1 and Figure .
