Transport Mode

MODEL

R50 (Cooper), R53 (Cooper S)

SITUATION

Transport Mode minimizes battery current draw while vehicles are in transit to MINI dealers. Transport Mode replaces the more traditional battery switch. Transport Mode is being phased in on all MINI vehicles.

Transport Mode immobilizes vehicle convenience features. Actual features immobilized vary between vehicle models, but typically include radio operation, interior lights, etc.

Transport Mode must be deactivated at QC1.

NOTE: Once deactivated, Transport Mode cannot be reactivated

PROCEDURE

To deactivate Transport Mode, connect the vehicle to a DISPlus or GT1.

Connect an approved battery charger.

Select "Diagnosis", then select "Function Selection / Service Functions / Body / Transport Mode / Delete Transport Mode / Test Plan". Then follow the on-screen instructions to deactivate Transport Mode.
