High-pressure Direct Injection Fuel System Repairs
INFORMATION
Failure to follow the repair procedures, including the use of the special tools and correct torque specifications during the removal, installation and/or replacement of the high-pressure fuel system components, can result in damage to the high-pressure fuel lines, high-pressure fuel injectors, high-pressure pump, and the cylinder head.
The use of aftermarket slide hammers and pry bar-type tools is not allowed when removing and installing or replacing these components.
Using tools that abruptly shock the injector housing to remove the injector from the cylinder head can lead to failure of the cylinder head and/or the injector itself.
The use of power or pneumatic tools is not allowed when removing and installing or replacing these components.
Always refer to the proper ISTA/D repair instruction for the approved tools and procedures applicable to the vehicle in the work shop.
WARRANTY INFORMATION
Damage to these components that results from not adhering to the "approved" MINI repair and replacement procedures is not covered under the terms of the MINI New Passenger Car Limited Warranties or the MINI Next Certified Pre-Owned Program.
