Where is the Data Stored in a Control Module?: Notes

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 136 other vehicles, including the 2008 BMW 760Li, 2008 BMW 650i, 2007 BMW Z4, 2007 BMW X5, and 2007 BMW X3. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

One of the differences between a personal computer and a vehicle control module is where the data is stored. The computer uses a hard drive, while a vehicle control module uses either an EPROM or an EEPROM depending on the system.
